Emface by BTL Esthetics Q&A

What is BTL Emface?

EMFACE is a non-invasive, needle-free treatment that simultaneously lifts, tightens, and tones the face. This convenient treatment uses cutting-edge radio frequency and electromagnetic energy to reduce wrinkles, boost collagen, lift sagging skin, and improve facial symmetry.

What Areas Can I Treat with Emface?

Forehead: Emface can help reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and forehead creases, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Under Eyes: The treatment can help lighten dark circles, puffiness, and under-eye bags, rejuvenating the delicate skin around the eyes for a brighter look.

Cheeks: Emface addresses sagging skin, loss of volume, and fine lines on the cheeks, restoring a plumper, lifted appearance.

Nasolabial Folds: Also known as smile lines or laugh lines, Emface can soften and minimize the appearance of nasolabial folds for a more youthful expression.

Jawline: Treatment along the jawline can help redefine contours, reduce sagging, and tighten the skin for a more sculpted and defined jawline.

Chin: Emface can target wrinkles, creases, and skin laxity in the chin area, enhancing chin definition and overall facial harmony.

Neck: Addressing wrinkles, sagging skin, and neck bands, Emface can rejuvenate the neck area for a smoother, firmer, and more youthful profile

What Can I Expect?

So how exactly does Emface work? In short, the HIFES contracts your forehead, cheek, and neck muscles with an electromagnetic current to elevate and lift facial tissue, while the RF technology uses heat energy to prompt a wound-healing response in your skin. This process increases collagen and elastin, the two main proteins responsible for keeping skin baby-soft and plump.

Treatment Day: After cleaning the treatment area with an alcohol pad and placing a grounding pad on your back or thigh, your provider will place sticky pads on your face in the selected treatment area. Each pad emits mild heat that feels reminiscent of a hot stone massage. Nice and relaxing. They also vibrate, which results in this weird involuntary twitching of your facial muscles. If you've ever tried microcurrent, it's a similar sensation just the most intense. Emface treatments take about 25 minutes from start to finish.

Emface isn't painful, but it definitely feels unusual—especially the first time you try it. Unlike other non-invasive treatments, there's no numbing and absolutely zero downtime. After your treatment, you can go about your day as usual.

Why Should I Choose Emface?

Benefits: It creates lift, restores volume, and reduces fine lines in the face. "It also tones underlying facial muscles to provide an overall refreshed, tighter, smoother complexion." Emface can lift your brows and make cheekbones look more prominent, define your jawline, and enhance chin definition and overall facial harmony.

Unlike Botox and filler (Botox kicks in about a week post-treatment and the results from filler are nearly instant), Emface takes some time before you see a noticeable difference in your skin (think: a few months). Collagen-building and muscle strengthening is a long game. On average, Emface results peak about 90 days after your last session and continue to improve with time.

Emface isn't a one-and-done thing. You'll need to complete four sessions—spaced about a week or two apart—to see the full results, and maintenance sessions may be required once or twice a year depending on the patient and their desired goals.
